Theater Viewing Guide
With the dawn of a new age of technology, gadgets, and gizmos, the future looks very enticing. Satellite TV looks enticing. HDTV also looks enticing. Everything seems to be in a perfect state of electronic bliss. The question is, are you prepared for the new wave of digital standards? Do you have what it takes to make the transition from the way analog television used to work, to the way it is going to work in the future?
There are a number of factors that all together, make this coming of technology very promising. You are going to want to have the proper room for your television with as little light as possible. You are going to want a high fidelity audio system to experience the best in sound. Remember, sound is much more important than audio quality, if you do not believe me, test it out for yourself. You are going to need a television that is capable of handling high definition signals. The 1080p model of resolution is your best bet to go with.
After you have all of this equipment what do you do with it? You are going to have a mass of wires all over your house and room. Organization is the key here. In order to properly establish a perfect home theater you need to plan exactly what it is you want to accomplish. The best way to go about this is to draw a simple diagram.
How many couches or chairs do you need? Do you plan to have speakers behind your sitting area and if so, how far from the television are they going to be? You might need to buy some extra cabling in order to have the proper length of wire for your speakers. The television should have a viewing angle of at least 150 degrees. This will allow friends and family that are sitting off to the left and right of the set to enjoy the same kind of picture you would receive if looking head on. This is not true for plasma televisions though since they do not have the viewing angle problem which LCD TVs do.
Lighting is also important. Does your room have a lot of interference with light? Is your main home theater actually going to be a theater room or is it just going to be placed in your living room? Televisions do work a lot better when there is no extra light involved, believe it or not. Perhaps you could invest in some sort of black out shades for your room? Give it a try at least and see how it works out for you.
Another option to consider is an actual home theater seating arrangement. Many folks would appreciate it and love you for it. Plans are easy to find and easy to build as well. A simple stair riser step for the couches in the second row is all that is needed for the room to have that extra feeling of a home theater. I wish you the best of luck and happy viewing.
